Privacy Notice

This notice explains how aFonte Games ("we," "us," or "our") handles personal data when you join Playtest One for Neighborhood Watchers, use the FirstLook player portal, or play a test build of the game.

Who is responsible

aFonte Games is responsible for the playtest data described in this notice. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to info@neighborhoodwatchers.com.

Information we collect

Playtest account and administration data

When you join through FirstLook, we may receive your email address, display name or profile information, invitation and account status, access-key fulfillment records, and information you choose to provide through surveys, support requests, or feedback.

Limited gameplay analytics

The game sends a small set of purpose-built events to PostHog EU Cloud. The data may include:

• A randomly generated installation identifier and a per-launch session identifier
• Playtest identifier, game and build version, build channel, platform, timestamp, and selected player role
• A sanitized version of the in-game nickname you choose
• Connection attempts, outcomes, timing, and broad failure categories
• Progress milestones such as starting the playtest, reaching the lobby, starting and ending a hunt, and viewing rewards

The current analytics implementation does not intentionally collect gameplay recordings, screen or session recordings, voice or audio, chat contents, precise location, Steam credentials, payment information, or sensitive personal data. Our service providers may automatically process ordinary technical information such as IP addresses, browser or device details, and security or delivery logs.

Why we use this information

We use playtest data to:

• Provide and administer Playtest One, including invitations and game access
• Communicate with participants and respond to support or feedback
• Diagnose connection, onboarding, progression, and gameplay problems
• Understand whether players can complete the intended playtest flow
• Improve the stability, usability, balance, and design of Neighborhood Watchers
• Protect the playtest, investigate abuse, and meet legal obligations

Depending on the context and applicable law, we rely on performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving a limited playtest, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where we specifically request it.

Your analytics choice

Gameplay analytics are enabled by default in normal playtest builds. You can stop future gameplay analytics at any time from the game's Settings menu by changing Share Playtest Analytics to Disabled. Disabling gameplay analytics does not prevent necessary account, access, security, or support processing in FirstLook.

We do not sell playtest data or use it for third-party advertising.

Service providers and sharing

We share data only as needed to run and improve the playtest:

• FirstLook / Pragma Platform provides invitations, player accounts, access-key delivery, surveys, support, and the player portal. See FirstLook's privacy policy.
• PostHog EU Cloud processes the limited gameplay analytics described above in its European cloud environment. See PostHog's privacy policy.
• Other technical providers may process limited data when necessary for hosting, security, communication, or game distribution. Valve/Steam separately handles your Steam account and key redemption under its own terms and privacy policy.

We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect players, the playtest, or our legal rights.

Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above. FirstLook is currently configured to retain player data for 30 days after an account is deleted. We generally retain pseudonymous Playtest One gameplay telemetry for no longer than 12 months after the playtest ends, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Aggregated or de-identified statistics may be retained longer.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

To make a request, email info@neighborhoodwatchers.com. Please include enough information for us to identify your playtest account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the playtest or our data practices change. We will update the date above and, when appropriate, notify participants of material changes.
